Police apprehended a shooter, also 23, in the Bronx on Sunday, April 26, hours after the shooting in Mount Vernon on South Third Avenue, officials said.
The identities of the shooter and victim have not been released by investigators, nor have the charges filed against the shooter.
The victim reportedly was a taxi driver and was an acquaintance of the shooter. It is unclear what the motive of the shooting was. The shooting remains under investigation.
